Certification Training Program in Redecision Therapy
Louisville
This is a comprehensive, training program in Redecision Therapy, integrating the approaches of Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Object Relations, Systems Theory, Developmental Theory, Personality Adaptations, Body Work, and Energy Psychology. Redecision Therapy is a powerful short-term approach that integrates cognitive, behavioral, and affective work. The focus of the training is on developing a broad conceptual framework and mastering effective techniques for individual, couple, family, and group therapy. The program meets in Chapel Hill on a Friday and Saturday once a month for ten months. Certification requires twenty months of training, a written exam, and a tape demonstrating one’s competency in Redecision Therapy. In Nashville and Louisville, the program meets for five months each year. In Asheville, it meets one day a month. Enrollment is on a semester basis. The program consists of theory, discussion, supervision, and experiential work. Our experience is that individuals learn best by having an opportunity to practice what they are learning and get direct supervision of their work. Therefore, we have participants work directly with one another using video supervision to enhance the learning. Participants also have the opportunity to do personal work with the faculty and observe them working with others. Supervision and training credits are provided for the International Transactional Analysis Association and the American Group Psychotherapy Association. Supervision is also provided for individuals pursuing certification in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
