Be in Wonder: An Open, Growth-Oriented Stance for Play Therapists & Parents

Rachel Carson wrote, “If I had influence with the good fairy … I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life.” The presenter of this workshop will define wonder; describe how it evolves in individuals and society; discuss its role in Play Therapy, healing, self-discovery, and in nurturing the authentic self; and describe how to take this stance throughout the Play Therapy process. The presenter will share strategies for inviting parents to take the same stance in their parenting.

The presenter will discuss technology and wonder. Finally, the presenter will give examples of how wonder shows up in Play Therapy.
