The Southeast Institute is pleased to announce we are offering two certification programs in Personality Focused Treatment (PFT)®. These programs are designed for
professionals who want to utilize, teach, and train others in the application of Personality Adaptations and the JPAQ (Joines Personality Adaptations Questionnaire).
This program will consist of two levels of certification:
-
Level I – Certified PFT Practitioner
-
Level II – Certified PFT Instructor (to teach and train others).
Certified PFT Practitioner – Level I
Level I begins with a Basics two-day workshop introducing the Personality Adaptations model and the Joines Personality Adaptation Questionnaire (JPAQ). Participants then take part in seven-weekly, one-hour online supervision sessions, presenting client cases and applying a Personality Focused Treatment (PFT) approach in their own practice.
Supervision is led by Vann Joines, Ph.D., This program provides both a strong conceptual framework and direct clinical guidance, helping practitioners deepen their skills in working effectively with diverse personality styles.
Next is an Advanced two-day workshop looking at the order of treatment given a client’s personality adaptations. This is followed by a second, seven-weekly, one-hour series of supervision sessions with client presenting their cases for advanced supervision. Then participants are certified as PFT Practitioners and listed on our website.
Certified PFT Trainer-Level II
Level II will consist of 7 additional monthly, 2-hour, online supervision sessions focused on teaching, training, and supervising others in this approach. These supervision sessions are scheduled when there are sufficient participants requesting to be certified.
